Mini Bio: Name: Tony Melendez Hometown: Rivas, Nicaragua Current City: Los Angeles Latest Album: Intimate Worship (1999) Fun Fact: Tony Melendez was born without arms due to a birth deformity brought on by the drug Thalidomide. He began playing music on push-button organ as a child and moved to the guitar and harmonica in high school. While playing his guitar in church services, he was noticed by a talent agent, who convinced him to audition to perform for Pope John Paul the Second. He won the spot and the rest is history.
